Hi! Welcome to Progress Not Perfection Counseling!

Are You Feeling Overwhelmed, Anxious, or Stuck in the Past?

Do you find yourself constantly battling racing thoughts, a sense of panic, or worry that never seems to stop? Are you feeling low, unmotivated, hopeless—or haunted by nightmares or flashbacks from past trauma? Maybe you’ve started turning to alcohol or other substances just to get through the day.

If any of this sounds familiar, I want you to know: you are not alone, and more importantly, I’m proud of you for being here. Reaching out for help takes incredible courage, especially when you’re carrying so much.

I’m here to support you.

At Progress Not Perfection Counseling, I provide compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating anxiety, substance use, and the lasting impacts of trauma. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing doesn’t have to look perfect-just possible, one step at a time.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and Pennsylvania, and a Credentialed Substance Abuse Counselor, with a passion for helping clients reclaim their lives and move forward with purpose and self-compassion.  This practice is built on compassion, respect, and the belief that healing is possible for everyone—no matter where you’re starting from.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. You just need a place to start.

Specialties...

Trauma/P.T.S.D

Trauma isn't just about what happened to you; it's about how it continues to affect you. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing emotions or memories, nightmares and/or flashbacks, negative beliefs/emotions, difficulties sleeping or irritability following a traumatic event, then Trauma therapy may be beneficial for you. At Progress Not Perfection Counseling, we take a therapeutic approach that is holistic, addressing the full spectrum of the trauma's impact, from changing how the trauma is understood to reducing distress and improving daily functioning to establishing emotional safety in relationships.

Addiction

Addiction is a complex condition that affects the brain, behavior, and emotions. Whether it's substances like alcohol or drugs, or behaviors like gambling, gaming, or pornography, addiction can take control of a person's life, often leading to isolation, shame, and emotional pain.

At its core, addiction is often an attempt to cope with stress, trauma, or difficult emotions, but over time, it can cause even more harm—impacting relationships, health, work, and self-worth. At Progress Not Perfection Counseling,  our perspective is that the opposite of addiction is connection. We strive to keep individuals connected to support systems while we work to identify and treat the core of their use.  We will always meet you where you are at in your recovery and work from there.

Suicidality

Thoughts of suicide can feel isolating and overwhelming. You may feel hopeless, exhausted, or unsure if things can get better.

You are not alone in this experience, and you are not beyond help.

In our work together:

  • You will be heard without fear of judgment or dismissal

  • We will create a safe space to talk openly about what you're feeling

  • We will build tools and supports to help you get through the hardest moments

Even when it doesn’t feel like it, your life has value, and there are ways to move through this pain.
